Colville, WA

Chewelah, WA – Two local NON-PROFITS MERGE

Through talks over the last several months, it was determined that Colville Arts Foundation and Greenwood Institute d’Art of Chewelah would join forces and merge their many talents, effective immediately. “Pooling our resources seemed a natural thing to do”, states Gloria de los Santos, Director of Colville Arts Foundation. “The two arts-based non-profits share the same goals, vision, and challenges. Gina and I thought it would be to our advantage to merge our non-profits and share our resources.” Gina Greenwood agrees, “I’ve known Gloria for many years, and know that we can successfully join forces as we have the same goal—namely to facilitate expression through the arts for all community members”.

To that end, the two non-profits are in the planning stages of their first event:

MORE::

The two non-profit directors thought the need for creative expression can be a valuable tool to combat social ills in our communities, namely, prescription and non-prescription drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and domestic violence. Creative expression is necessary; many studies have proven that those who do find a creative outlet—find their passion--are healthier, happier citizens.

Sponsors: Colville Arts Foundation, City of Chewelah, and Greenwood Institute d’Art.

FUNDRAISER: This event also serves as a fund-raiser for Chewelah resident Tammy Carr, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. Funds raised will help with her medical expenses. Please come out and enjoy the arts, enjoy the music and help this worthy cause.
